How a commission runs

Four stages, in this order.

Editorial work has a sequence, and skipping a stage costs more than doing it. This is the order the work runs in, whichever entry from the catalogue you order.

Stage 01

Brief in

You order online or send a brief, then upload whatever you already have. The scope, the extent and the price are confirmed in writing before any work starts.

Stage 02

The writing itself

Drafting, editing or revision, depending on what you ordered. Anything ambiguous comes back to you as a query rather than a silent change.

Stage 03

Your read & revision

You receive the draft and mark it up. The revision rounds included in your order are carried out and checked against the agreed style.

Stage 04

Files delivered

Final text arrives by email in the agreed formats, together with the style notes, so whoever picks it up next is working to the same rules.

I'm Alessia Moro. I write and refine the words businesses and professionals put in front of other people — profiles, biographies, company pages, press releases and pitch decks. I work independently from Paris, in English, French and Italian.

Working across three languages teaches you quickly that an idea rarely survives being moved word for word. It has to be rebuilt for the people reading it. That is most of what I do: taking something that is nearly right and making it sound like the person who commissioned it, rather than like a translation or a template.

I would rather ask a question than guess at your meaning, so expect queries instead of quiet rewrites. And nothing leaves my desk half-finished — every commission comes back proofread, formatted and ready to use.
